| HONEST, I'M A HARD GRADER!
We were just delighted with our three-night stay here over Labor Day 2009. You're always a bit wary about bed-and-breakfast accommodations. Less privacy, unpredictable personalities, you know what I'm saying if you've stayed in B&Bs.
Steamboat Valley Guest House, you're the only guests. George and Alice Lund are wonderful hosts, friendly but never obtrusive. You're basically staying in a lower-level guest suite, big TV and dining room, big bathroom, big bedroom, with another bedroom attached for a couple kids.
There's a private deck with a two-person hot tub, too. The location is just great, a block off Lincoln St. (Steamboat's main drag), close to downtown restaurants and shopping. There's a bagel/coffee place two blocks away.
Which, if you're an early riser, you'll want to frequent. My only quibble was no coffee until 8 AM breakfast. I was up at 6 for the brief walk to java and a newspaper. And a king (rather than queen) bed would have been a plus as well.
Other than that, we were really pleased with the whole experience. Highly recommended! |
